shabbychick writes: Welcome to the JunkMarket! So glad you joined in and shared your junk find. It's an awesome piece and I'm sure you'll come up with a great idea that works for you. It would definitely be great painted (white-my personal favorite), and I do like the idea of using the dropleaves as shelves.

I noticed from your profile that you're 19. I refinished my first piece of furniture when I was about that age - and haven't stopped "fixing up" things since! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

MimiToria writes: Welcome to the site! You found yourself a great find here and for free, who can beat that? It is a tea cart, probably maple. I too think it would be great painted. Either a white shabbied up a bit or black if you like that look.
Cindy loves it as a tea cart, but it could also be considered a beverage cart (with teas/hot chocolates/marshmallows/cups/spoons) etc. displayed on it for the upcoming cooler seasons. It doesn't just have to be used for tea.

I also love Sue's suggestion of using it in a bathroom, and I would have the perfect spot for that project right now in my daughters new bathroom. The sides could easily make 2-4 great shelves, with just a rip down the middle of each drop leaf on the tea cart. Paint those as well to go with your decorating styling and you've now got 5 projects from one free item. How cool is that?

suewhitney writes: Hi,

Welcome to the site, we're all glad you're here! Great free find. Free is always best! I'll confess, I take things apart to get more than one creation. I would remove the side pieces, paint them and make a wall shelf. I think the cart itself would look adorable in a bathroom. I'd paint it a crisp white, put rolled up towels on the bottom, toiletries on the top, and put hooks under one of the ends to hang bath scrubbies...but that's just me. I'm sure you'll get other great ideas from members on the site. Good luck and make sure to show us what you do. Have fun!

Be well,

And you did not hear this from me, but I would whitewash it...junkin gioni gave me her process which was very easy & cheap & turned out great! Check out my post here for the process:
It would look cute with vignettes of old bottles, tea items, old pictures, etc. put on top.

There's 1 idea for you, you can bet you will get many others from the creative junkers on this site!!

Welcome to the site and please keep posting your ideas!
