Petunia's is an adorable little store offering a eclectic blend of vintage and new furnishings and accessories, garden stuff, jewelry, and much, much more. They are located at 421 3rd Street, Excelsior, MN. Check out the store events at www.petuniasonthird.com.
I was delighted to meet Betty Sorensen, owner of Petunia's. She opened the doors in March of '08 so I can't wait to see what she has in store for the future. This was her "Funky Flea" and I hope she will do more of these events. It was small, but oh so many good finds. I love quaint!
Before I could even get in the door, there were oodles of things to look at...and take home!
Love, love, love this porch swing.
Ahhahah! The door greeter! This is a smasing ensemble she is wearing. I have a new appreciation for vintage mannequins. You'll see what I mean when Junk Beautiful: Outdoor Edition is released.
We all love a beautiful chandie...right?
These little red fellas were my first picks of the day. The holidays are coming and I'm sure my new feathered friends will make their debut.
And guess who the birds belonged to? I should have figured that Miss Elizabeth was the one who found these ans snagged them before anyone could blink and eye. Elizabeth is an ardent shopper and more times than not the first shopper at our local Sunday flea market. It's always a challenge to beat her to the punch. E is also well known for her groovy glasses and great smile.
Finally I think I have found the components for my pink project!
Silver bells, silver trays! Yep it's that time again. My brain is on the festive train.
Meanwhile back in the tent... a gentleman playing keyboard, but of course. What a great addition to this event. The cupcakes and cider were darn good too! Oh yes, if so inclined you could also have a fairy reading. Very fun!
More of the good stuff outside. I never tire of wire laundry baskets--they are a junk staple.

Downtown Excelsior is one of those quirky places that you just can't live without. Full of old architecture, fun restaurants, antique stores, girly stores, an old fashioned theater, ice cream, and much more. You can see why I might take a drive there on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. When I turned the corner on to third I spied junk on the curb and a white tent in the parking lot. Yay! I couldn't pull the car over fast enough. This was going to be a twofer kind of day...beautiful weather and a junking event. When I hopped out I immediately saw two friendly faces from the past, Elizabeth (who was selling her gorgeous wares,) and Sarah who is indeed a veteran shopper and got the memo....she already had her hands full. After a group hug it was time to get shopping!
