A Mini Holiday Project
October 25th, 2008 in member junkHere's a little project that takes no time or talent for that matter. I bought a bunch of these plant stakes that you put the name of the plant on and painted them with a glossy orange paint. While that was drying I printed out the words and glued them in place. They would be great in a arrangement or just stuck in a potted plant like I have done or in a bottle on the Holiday table. I am going to do red and green for Christmas. I may even put names on them , clip the ends short and put them under the bow on a present. You could use them as place cards at your table in a bud vase with an appropriate flower at any holiday meal or even a wedding. Whew...It took me longer to write this then to actually do it! Have fun, Geo

Never thought of painting these (even in the garden). These are great. Here's a shortcut for making the labels (the secretary in me)--there are self stick labels out there that can be used to type all your holiday words on at once, print and then place on the stakes. Saves from using glue--just a thought.

A fun project indeed, and an easy one, that would encourage newbies to take a shot at. All of us could do this, and it would add so much to so many different venues. Thanks for sharing a simple, but awesome idea.
Hey, Geo check back at my Hardware store posting, as I've included a follow-up comment and a few photos.
