Done!  I left the cork board as it was.  The owner can add a mirror, shelf or what ever.
Someone had tried to stip the vanity and really wrecked the sides and trim.  there was some carving done on the top.
The headboard was picked to try my hand a making a bench.  Wooops

a closer look at the desk and the passing of a middle drawer.  See the top.  It was unrestorable in the current way but salvageable maple top and drawers

The bottom was in pretty bad shape for a stained project too

While Shopping at a thrift store this old vanity was marked 9.99.  It was also a 20% off day.  Well I hated to pass that up.  I picked up the twin headboard at a local garage sale for $3.00 to try my hand at a bench.    Well It matched the vanity too well at least to me.   I had the cork board I picked up for $1.69. My main concern in converting from vanity to a desk was getting our legs underneath.  My daughter suggested taking the middle drawer out.  Well I guess I was wrong teenagers do now everything.  LOL.  I tried to inspire her to be a junker.  NO LUCK!  You know the one pleasure of doing this project was all the purfumes imbedding in the old wood. I reused the drawer front and added a tray I bought several years ago.  It comes off to expose a hidding spot

To give the corkboard some punch try adding a piece of your favourite fabric on top of the cork. Posted: 1:06 pm on June 6th
