I found this beautiful bundled copper tubing thingy at the scrap yard last weekend and fell in love with it! It weighs a TON but they didnt even weigh it! She just gave it to me for 3 dollars! I felt like Id just won the lotto!
It looks a little like bamboo, but its actually copper!
From what Ive learned, it is some sort of cooling element. There, That helps, doesnt it!?  I decided It HAD to be a lamp base...so the first thing I did was wire it, using parts from old lamps...
I went digging through boxes for possible lamp shades and found this one, which seems to work!
Done!

RustyDiva writes: You better hang on to that or maybe not. Copper has been so sought after here that people have had refrigerators stolen for the copper tubing inside. They have also had some construction sites burglarized for copper. Appearantly it's selling for a pretty high price. Way to go girl! Posted: 2:43 pm on February 22nd

oldnews writes: Oh my gosh Jenny, you just made my entire day! If you ever get to Chico, they have the most amazing scrap yard! Well organized and VERY reasonable! Right off hwy99. I kept thinking that you would LOVE this one while I was digging around! LOTS of big pieces like the cool mirror project you did! Had I known she wasn't going to weigh me, I would have grabbed more! Going back in March! Marie Posted: 4:58 pm on February 20th

junkermidge writes: Oh my gosh, Marie!!!! That is the coolest lamp ever! I DID think that was bamboo when I first saw it (which gave me a whole separate idea) but so cool that it's a copper thingy. Doubt I'll ever find one -- seems like one of those one-of-a-kind type of finds. But it's sure inspired me to start digging. Way to go!!!
