Youre never too young for the Junk Gypsy prom. These little ladies really knew how to shake a  leg!
Here are the ladies responsible for this fabulous event and the Junk Gypsy brand. Jolie is on my left and Amie on my right. Mom, Janie is at home baysitting Amies new baby. Were having our photo taken in the world famous outhouse. These girls are talented, beautiful, and charming. Thanks ladies, we all had a great time.
The ultimate in re-purposing! Our new friend Christine did not have a prom dress so I shared mine. We just cut some from the bottom and made a lovely neck bow for Christine that looked just divine with her tiara. Oh, and the vintage pins? The crowning touch!
Rumor has it that these lovely ladies never miss a prom. Each year they re-invent themselves with new costumes. I think they may have out done themselves this time! They were gorgeous.
Ah hahahah! What can I say about this group of characters. I purchased my jewels for the evening from them earlier in the day. I wonder where the 20% off price sign was then? Only kidding. As you can tell they have quite the collection of vintage hats.
My wonderful dates  for the evening. Shelley and Christine were a hoot and a half. Lets talk about Shelleys get up for a minute. Id been hearing about it for weeks, but words didnt do it justice. A pair of bedazzled overalls with just a hint of animal print was just the beginning. A tiara, boa, sparkly shoes, and a chicken bag rounded out the ensemble. I have no idea how many people took Shelleys picture, but I have a feeling she is front and center in many albums across the country! Oh and the cane, horn and all (due to knee replacement) was the best of all.
This was the most popular prom attire among the cowboys. A petticoat on the knee? Why not!
The music was toe tapping and downright Texan.
Anyone care to dance? Texas two-step perhaps?
Does anyone recognize this gentleman? We met him at Oronoco earlier in the year and I spotted him in Warrenton selling his wares and later at the festivities. Clark said he was a little out of his element at the prom.
Its a big night at the prom so you need to get some shut eye before you go.

This is what I call a celebration of junk. People are dressed up for prom (some have a more interesting take on prom attire than others), talking, singing, dancing, and yes still shopping for junk under the lights. What a great time! The Junk Gypsies host this event twice a year and it certainly lights up the Texan sky. We went, we saw, we had a wonderful time!

shabbychick writes: Sue - Well...looks like big fun in Texas - and your dress really is "divine"!! (and so nice that you were able to share it with a friend in need!)

Candy, you're right - they're having way too much fun in Texas and Minnesota - I think there's enough of us to get something started in the Buckeye State...time for some brainstorming!?! (Italianpeasant...any thoughts???)

What a riot you must of had. It's definitely one of those things I've got to do someday.

georgiamoon writes: OMG what a fun night. I want to go to the next one...I'll even wear a petticoat on my knee if that's what it takes! It looked like everyone was certainly prepared or a night of fun, maybe a nap on the side of the road is exactly what is called for in this situation...although I think a nap is called for any time you can get one! I really love seeing the joyful celebration of a day of junking gone well! Georgia Posted: 3:05 pm on October 5th
