The cheese stands alone, the cheese stands alone, Hi-ho-the dairy-o, the cheese stands alone. I have no idea why I sang that song...just seemed appropriate when I looked at this picture. Sometimes I think funny thoughts. What can i say?!
The bird's eye view of this wonderful widget.
The piece-o-junk. I believe this an old piece of surveyor's equipment. If I'm wrong, please feel free to advise. One thing I know for sure is that it's a beauty.
Supplies needed....Gorilla Super Glue or Gorilla Epoxy, a small gold metal rod, teo shelf pins, and a metal aging product to add patina to the new metal
Measure from pin to pin attached to the round thingies.
Cut rod to appropriate length.
What do you use your kitchen cutting board for? Now this is my kind of cooking. Let's get messy!
Glue the rod between the pins on the round thingies and place the shelf pins at the front edge of the bar about an inch in from each end.
The bar will add stability and the pins will keep the frame from falling forward.
Another look at this too cool for school piece of junk.

I'm just going to have to apologize right up front to all of you. This will be the year of the picture for me. My daughter Elizabeth, whom you have all come to know throughout the JUNKMARKET years will be graduating from high school at the closing bell of the academic year. I will then officially be an empty nester. Scary stuff!! I've decided to return to college and continue my education. That way I can not only attend the same university as E, but I can also share a dorm room with her. This will help make the transition for my daughter far less painful and she won't miss me or home quite as much. Ah hahahaha! She is shaking in her boots that I might actually do that. Any hoo, with graduation comes a lot of reflection, memories, celebrating, and activities and that makes pictures paramount. This is one of her graduation images and also a gift for her Grandmother. We wanted to do it up right and in a way that will work with my Mom's decor. So here you have it ..........one of the many snapshots to come.

Sue, that’s an incredible frame stand and has a slight architectural feel to it…so I want one! My daughter who’s attending college to hopefully become an art teacher decided to live with me instead of on campus. She checks up on me more than I do on her!

Thank you all for your kind comments. I have to say this is what I love so much about all of the members on JMS. Not only do you offer encouraging words about the posted projects, but you also are here to support and guide each other in personal matters. You have helped establish a site that is creatively inspiring and one that is truly a community of caring friends and family. I know now that I'll come through my separation anxiety with flying colors. You are all awesome!
Before I go...Hi Amber from Oklahoma City. It was a pleasure to meet you and your darling girls in Oklahoma City. The audience adored their version of "Twinkle". Happy to see you became a member. Thanks so much for coming to see me and for joining the site. Have fun!!
Be Well,

I know exactly what you're talking about - being an empty nester for a few years now - but, E will be back (and if she's like my daughter...she'll bring her laundry too!) ha ha!

I saw you at the Home and Garden Show this weekend in OKC and wanted to thank you again for all of your wonderful ideas, encouragement, and especially for the sweet memories that you helped make by offering my girlies the chance to sing their version of "Twinkle, twinkle little star" on stage. They will be talking about that for a long time.
Love the website and will be spreading the word about it to my junk lovin friends! Amber Austin Posted: 10:20 pm on January 16th

As a mom of "little people" it's hard to imagine them ever leaving...but I hear time flies...I think it's a great idea to head to college with her...ha-ha...just like how I almost hopped on the bus with my kindergartener this year :) Laurel Posted: 11:49 am on January 16th

With the internet nowadays, the time your girl is gone should go by quickly ~ I really was amazed at how quick it went for me when mine was gone - they leave, come home for CHristmas break, you settle in for the cold winter and then here they come again for the summer! It's really not that bad!
