Look at that spooky smilin face! We think its an old barrel lid, but not sure. I do know that it just doesnt matter. One look at him and you cant help but giggle!
Bart, ready to welcome visitors to the porch.
The parts and pieces...
I drilled a small hole in the bottom edge and twisted in an old hook to support the childs jacket.
Barts head is attached to the vintage pitchfork with wire looped around the back of the lid and the middle tine of the fork.
An adult size vintage wooden hanger gives the childs jacket just the right amount of fullness to make Barts arms stand out.
Another look at Barts parts.

Some junk just speaks to you. That's how Bart the one legged cowboy was created. One look at his "face" and he told us exactly who he was. Poised behind the see saw bench and sportin' a pair of children's cowboy boots and jean jacket, he is ready to greet visitiors to the Falloween porch.

Did you make this?

KimberlyMelamed writes: Well I never would have guessed at the true purpose of 'Barts' face. A wooden bog horseshoe! How great. My daughter keeps asking for a horse and I just keep telling her that I wouldn't know the first thing about caring for a horse. I think I just proved my point. Ha Ha

Thanks for sharing and welcome to the site!

sistersjunk4fun writes: HI new to this, just looked at your junkmarket site because of one of my sisters Mimitoria from Mn. Anyway, your friendly pumpkin face Bart is a wooden bog shoe used on horses to keep them from sinking in the mire... anyway he makes an adorable face. The "eyes" are actually where the ends of the horsehoes fit and the knob on top of horseshoe forms his mouth. Clever idea. Posted: 3:47 pm on October 5th
