Built-In Nightstands
November 19th, 2009 in member junk
When we got our new bed, it was so tall that I couldn't find any nightstands that worked with it. I decided to look for an old coffee table and split it in half and make built-in stands. It took only a couple of weeks to find one the right size at a local Goodwill store. I removed the top and had my husband cut it in half. Each half is 24" x 26". I tried to find some attractive tall legs, but couldn't, so we built support structures out of some 2x2s that we had and attached them to the wall. I painted them the wall color, and they are hardly noticeable. Our nightstands may have a "motel" look, but I love them. They are the exact height we want, and it is super easy to vacuum under them.
