Can Anyone Guess What This Is Made From?

I bet Sue won't even be able to figure this one out!  This is now being used as a shadow box but had a previous life as something else!  Here are your hints:

Think early 1970's.

The moon replaced something that was orignally there.

But the best hint will be to look closely at the brown 'trees', which are permanently painted onto the glass.

Any guesses?  Come on you gals from the 70's!!!!
