Wowzers.  I love the rust on this hay rack!
This piece had so much potential.  Just needed some TLC and a little embellishing!
This is a great vintage swiss army basket, and though it doesnt fit perfectly, I loved the look of it inside the hay rack.
All this arrangement needed was some embellishments . . .
. . . some greens and some bright red berries.  I have to fess up, these berries are plastic.  My bad!
This dove looks mighty fine in it, too!
Okay, I have a little secret.  I dont think embellishing with ribbon is my forte.  But I kind of like how this turned out.  I love the architectural piece.  Something I picked up at Ms. Sues garage sale!
Heres another look at this pieces great rusty patina!
So heres the final piece in all its glory!  LOL!  I think its way too nice to used for hay!  Sorry, Bessie!

I found this awesome hay rack at a local antique store.  Guess Ol' Bessie was all done with it!  I knew from the start it would look amazing with Christmas greens on my front porch.  I love how it turned out!  How about you?

CottageElements writes: Frostyfrolk, I love old farm equipment, and in Minnesota it is plentiful. The rustier, the better! Sometimes I know what it is, sometimes, I don't, but no matter. If I like it, I'll buy it. I just purchased some grain shoots. I thought they were stove pipes and someone set me straight. I'll have to post a project on them, too.

The funny thing about this hay rack is I was out at an occasional sale this week and the original dealer ran into me. She saw it on JMS and said she had brought it back from Missouri I think. She sold it to the dealer I bought it from. We laughed. Things seem to get passed from dealer to dealer. I think I'll keep it for awhile, though. Ha!

frstyfrolk writes: It is absolutely beautiful Lanette! I am also so thankful to you for explaining what the items were in a past life as I am still learning farm equipment. But, what an awesome door decoration you created!
I love cedar greens and need to go wander myself.

Smiles, Cyndi
