Door turned desk

The addition of plexi-glass to the inset panels makes for a smooth work surface.
My first color choice. What was I thinking?

Turning an old door into a desk or work surface is certainly not a new concept, but here's my take on the idea.  Pairing the door with chunky ornate legs that once held a formica table top, makes for the perfect desk in my craft room.  My first color attempt was a two-tone brown & black, but the new distressed "stain-over-paint" finish fits my area much better.  Check out our blog at for more pictures.
