My very first junk market project (some 30 years ago). Old pulpit brass hardware given to my brother was black. He gave it to me and I cleaned and polished it and went to a furniture salvage store where I picked up three sides and a base and put them together to remount the pulpit as a bookstand for our 1678 German lexiconary. Then my brother wanted the pieces back! "Too late, bro!"
