Rustic Virgin Mary Shrine

I have a thing for Virgin Mary shrines, I'm not really sure why as I had a very non-religious upbringing.  The beauty of Virgin Mary related art just touches me somehow so I have a tendency to construct my own from a large cache of Marys I have floating around the house.  I mean no disrespect to anyone's beliefs in making these, I do so with the utmost respect, I am just drawn to the strong feminine energy and imagery of these shrines.

This one is made of an old plastic Virgin with Child wall plaque mounted inside an old enamel bowl.  The "wings," braids & other decorative elements are hand woven from dead leaves from a houseplant in my office.  It is finished off with some silk flowers and an old Virgin Mary medal.
