I used old yellowed music sheets for placemats
I just love my ironstone dishes!
Metal cow tags worked well as wine charms...
An old light fixture filled with flowers from my garden and a candle was a quick fix for a centerpiece. I added a grate to anchor it on top of a fake moss roll. Looks real, doesn't it?
I decided on a burlap runner for the tablecloth. I attached wire to some old doorknobs for place card holders.

Marybeth's post reminded me of a tablescape I did this summer when some visiting friends arrived. I had just purchased some Independence Ironstone at a vintage shop, but didn't have much else...until I threw some junk together...

Your tablescape looks fantastic. I love how you made such good use out of discarded sheet music. What a great and
simple idea. Great way to use your much loved numbers. You
would be so easy to buy gifts for with your love for numbers.
It was so good to see you again a few weeks ago. Let's do
it again next year.

I just saved some sheet music that was for sale at a barn sale, and it would be happier as placemats than left out in a damp barn to get ruined.

The the old doorknobs and their use as placecards are a very clever idea as well. gailmarie Posted: 7:29 pm on October 20th
