Lantern Lamp and American Flag
October 17th, 2009 in member junkI turned an old camping lantern into a lamp by using a clamp-on lamp kit. I just clamped the lamp onto the metal loop on the top of the lantern. The americal flag in the background is an oak kitchen cabinet door that I rescued from the trash. I primed it in black, then taped off for the strips and stars. I muted the colors of red, white, and blue by toning them down with a little black mixed in. Once the paint dried well, I sanded areas to reveal the black primer underneath.

I love the rusty old patina on your lantern and thanks for the info on the clamp-on lamp kit.
