I love a collage

This four panel room divider was a garage sale find.  I did not take a before photo; it was covered with a not-so-lovely flowered wallpaper!  Since I love collages, I decided to try my hand at it.  I took off the loose wallpaper and adhered old music sheets, pages from old books and a dictionary for the base.  Then I added coordinating scrapbooking papers and embellishments as well as a little stenciling too.
Heres a close up shot. If you are wondering, yes, it took me quite a while to complete!
After the room divider project, I decided to tackle it again on the inside of an old fireplace...
This is a before of the fireplace...pretty darn ugly, wouldnt you say?! I took off most of the trim and added some decorative pieces I had to the top and front.  After it was primed twice I painted it a heritage white.

Thought I'd share a couple of my collage experiments.  I was pleased with the results.  I sold both of these items at this years' Junk Fest in September.  They were two of my favorite projects.
