I love a collage

This four panel room divider was a garage sale find.  I did not take a before photo; it was covered with a not-so-lovely flowered wallpaper!  Since I love collages, I decided to try my hand at it.  I took off the loose wallpaper and adhered old music sheets, pages from old books and a dictionary for the base.  Then I added coordinating scrapbooking papers and embellishments as well as a little stenciling too.
Heres a close up shot. If you are wondering, yes, it took me quite a while to complete!
After the room divider project, I decided to tackle it again on the inside of an old fireplace...
This is a before of the fireplace...pretty darn ugly, wouldnt you say?! I took off most of the trim and added some decorative pieces I had to the top and front.  After it was primed twice I painted it a heritage white.

Thought I'd share a couple of my collage experiments.  I was pleased with the results.  I sold both of these items at this years' Junk Fest in September.  They were two of my favorite projects.

LloydsLandingofSears writes: These are beauts! I've gone looking for matching bi-folds - need 4 of them - to make an outdoor privacy divider for my sister. Her neighbor's deck and her patio are only a few feet from each other and she'd like more privacy. Your idea of the collage is wonderful, and I know I have enough material, even the the sheet music, to mimic what you did in your project, if you don't mind...but it will be keeping my sister's interests in mind also. The sheet music will be coming from her, since she plays piano. She'll love the idea! ~Mary~ Posted: 5:21 pm on June 11th
