I'm all out of tissues...

I lightly sanded it, then dry brushed it with off white paint and sealed with a clear varithane. That got rid of the tacky gold paint, and let silver show through. For the moment it holds a bouquet of silk flowers nicely.
I added just one old earring to the center to give it just a little something shiney.
It also looks pretty at night with just a tea light in it. It casts some cool shadows. Pretty sure it wont ever hold kleenex again...

I found this ugly gold filigree kleenex holder at a thrift store for fifty cents, and it's been sitting around in my workshop collecting dust...
