Gas Lamp to Candlestick: Quick, Easy and Pretty Too!

the wire shade form has 3 sides, making it look odd in the photo, trust me, it looks great in person.

I found this old gas lamp in a box lot at an auction. I fell in love with it's design of rambling flowers around the base. As luck would have it I had stashed the wire frame of a lamp shade that I thought would fit nicely. A little "J B Weld" was all it took to attach the wire frame to the lamp base. Celluloid buttons, vintage crystals and the odd glass bead from an old necklace, strung on copper wire give the illusion of a shade. I plan to put a votive candle in the center, although it could be retro-fitted with wire and a small lightbulb unit attached. I think the candle lends to the charm...
