Gas Lamp to Candlestick: Quick, Easy and Pretty Too!
October 2nd, 2009 in member junkI found this old gas lamp in a box lot at an auction. I fell in love with it's design of rambling flowers around the base. As luck would have it I had stashed the wire frame of a lamp shade that I thought would fit nicely. A little "J B Weld" was all it took to attach the wire frame to the lamp base. Celluloid buttons, vintage crystals and the odd glass bead from an old necklace, strung on copper wire give the illusion of a shade. I plan to put a votive candle in the center, although it could be retro-fitted with wire and a small lightbulb unit attached. I think the candle lends to the charm...

It's high time for another member feature, don't you think. This time around the feature goes to a brand new member here at JUNKMARKET Style, Jackie Lantry. All I have to say about this project is....LOVE!!! I have been a fan of dressing up the "naked" lampshade for sometime now and Jackie's version is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the great project, Jackie and welcome again to JMS!
Be Well,
