These creations were recently completed, by my very talented niece and nephew! We had so much fun in my studio, trying to find "just the right" junk stuff to use. These are their first projects and I think they turned out GREAT!!!
Proud Auntie Gail
Adam used a vintage Hershey's tin, croquet ball, rusty tin bowl, bottlecap, assorted wood blocks, measuring spoons; a candy pc wrapped to look like a $5000 bill, plus various screws, nuts and bolts to make MONEY MAN.
Adam also learned how to pick out drill bits for drilling holes and how to screw in the screws used. He amazed me in how fast he learned and how tight he got those screws...I didn't have to tighten them at all!!!
Auntie Gail
Here is Adam holding his masterpiece!!!
Auntie Gail
BOB was a fun creation made by Eliza. She used a tall thin tin with great colors and designs, an old vegetable brush, and jewels, as well as vintage wooden checkers, dominos, dice, measuring spoon, bottle caps and buttons.
I think BOB turned out just adorable! He is standing proudly, next to MONEY MAN at a place of honor at my sister's and brother-in-law's home.
Auntie Gail
Eliza is very proud of her first "Junk Art" piece and so am I. She and her brother can't wait to come back to my studio and work on more projects. In fact, the three of us are already stopping at rummage sales when we can, trying to add to our collection of junk!!!

MONEY MAN by Adam, almost 7 years old
BOB by Eliza, soon to be 10 years old

MimiToria writes: I love it that you are training and teaching these young ones to see junk in a new light and their creations are each a delight. Wonderfully creative use of the measuring spoons, croquet ball, etc. and Bob has the coolest head of hair and feet I've ever seen.
Love what you've done with these kids, and I bet they just adore you.
