We had a candle light dinner on our new (old) stools, just for fun!
I found these beat up stools at Haupt Antiek so I brought them home and cleaned them up... sanded the oak seat and the metal, primed and repainted and stained. I love using them now.
I have to admit, my husband did most of the work on these. He did a nice job!

Kind of backwards... in this case I cleaned them up rather than distressing but I love the already distressed oak. They have someone's initials carved in them.

Countryinthecity writes: The Haupt Antiek is in Rosemount, MN. They are only open once a month. You can find their schedule at http://www.hauptantiek.com. It's a good one! Posted: 6:41 pm on October 8th
Countryinthecity writes: I did go to Haupt Antiek last night, I bought a clock but more importantly I came away with a lot of great ideas and plans. I'm planning a shabby chic/junk patio for next spring. I love the hunt! Their show is always a great time! Posted: 11:35 pm on September 19th
MimiToria writes: Just wanted to comment that I like how you chose the darker stain that goes with your flooring color and gives a great contrast to your cabinets. Great little stools. Posted: 11:26 pm on September 19th

suewhitney writes: Awesome, I adore stools like these. Your new color way is far better than the blue! I love to go to Haupt Antiek. There is something for everyone there. Hats of to you and your hubby.

Take care,

MimiToria writes: These are fabulous the way you fixed them up. I much prefer them to the way you found them. You and your husband have done a great job.
Did you just have to sand and restain them, or did you use a product to help with the cleaning up?
I'm also glad you feel at home on this site (in reference to your post that I posted), and will continue to share your great projects. Posted: 7:22 am on September 19th
