Sonata (noun) - a musical composition of 3 or 4 movements of constrasting forms.
I am very big into music, having studied piano for over 10 years and voice for over 7 years. I have also been involved with theater for over 20 years. It stands to reason I would choose names for my pieces whenever possible, using a song title, instrument or type of music. This name seemed fitting, as I often times use 3 or 4 (or more) contrasting items when creating my pieces.
Here is a close-up of the top portion of this piece.
These doll arms are so stained from age, at first I wasnt sure I would keep them. I am SOOOO glad I did, because I really like them with this piece.
I love this painted hinge. The color is so me. Plus, of course, the rust adds quite a bit to the overall piece. Who doesnt like rust???
I still crack up when I look at her cake decorating tips!!!! For some reason they still make me laugh. Hoping others will see the humor in them as well.  :o)

monakent writes: Thank you so much for the wonderful comments on my latest piece. I brought this to the gallery I show my work at and have told myself if this doesn't sell in a few weeks, I'm taking it back to hang on my wall at home. Part of me wants to sell it and the other part doesn't. What to do?????

I think one of my next pieces will have to be called Aria - I LOVE that name. Also, Patina would be a fun name, as would Harmony. I have you four to thank for the upcoming names!!! gailmarie Posted: 5:54 pm on September 8th

Junk_Sophisticate writes: She's wonderful! And yes, I giggled when I saw her decorating tips. ;)

I love how you name your pieces. Even though I don't have a background in music, it is a big part of me. My oldest daughter's middle name is Aria so I truly get what you are saying.

Another great piece, gailmarie!
