A black and white vase teamed with some yummy-yet-inexpensive deep orange spray roses is an elegant way to say happy Halloween!

Here it is...the gift bag.  Cut one side away for this project and save the rest for later.  I also used one of the handles in place of ribbon in the arrrangement.

After cutting the paper, roll it, and slip inside the metal glass holder to measure for the height cut.

To dress it up a bit, I added a scalloped edge.  I used the gift bag paper to measure the black scalloped paper.  The black paper is cut to leave a 1/4 in. edge showing above black and white paper.

Slip the paper in, slip the glass in, and you have pure sweetness!  No fuss, no muss, no glue.

The season for social gatherings is creeping up on us.  Starting with Halloween and running straight through New Year's, it seems as though it's one function after the other.  With this in mind, I thought I'd better start thinking of clever ways to show my appreciation (seeing that I'm not the one having the party.)  I'm not a big fan of gift bags, but seems as though I have plenty in my gift wrap closet.  Instead of recycling these ditties in the standard fashion I tried something a little more creative on for size.  I love, love, love soda fountain junk!  As a kid, I spent plenty of afternoons at the counter of our local F. & W. Woolworth store sipping on delightful fizzy concotions, hence my passion for this type of memorabilia and the plethora of it in my own personal junk pile.  Ha!  A soda fountain glass, a recycled gift bag, and some flowers seemed like a match made in heaven as a hostess gift.  So there you have it.  How do you recycle gift bags?
