This solid oak piece was posted on Freecycle as an "antique bench with mirror". (It's more of a short dresser or maybe a washstand?) I expected it to be REALLY ugly, but was pleasantly surprised! The mirror is shown in another photo. I'll post "after" photos once it's all done!
The mirror is big and heavy! It's almost 5 feet tall. The whole piece mounts to the back of the dresser/washstand base; the mirror part is framed and tips forward/back, It is held in place by side pins.
So, should I put this mirror piece back on the base or do something different with them? I'm torn. I'd like to add a cushion to the base for an entry bench. The two parts of the mirror could become a memo board and a small table top or even a mirror on the wall. Any and all other ideas welcome!
This was rescued from my neighbor's trash. They were going to pay someone to haul it away! I'm not sure how old it is or what it was, but it could become a kitchen island or stay a great workbench/potting table in our garage. There's lots of storage in its eight tip-out bins. Any ideas?

I'm still surprised. And happy.

I vote for the kitchen island - and hope to see a picture of the finished project - whatever you decide to do with it! It's aawesome.
And the mirrored dresser - is super cool too! Lucky you!
