I think this necklace says it all. Even while working in Charlotte...a junkers gotta do what a junkers gotta two. In between sets I was able to sneak away and visit a Charlotte junking hot spot, The Sleepy Poet. This necklace came from my favorite booth, Artsy Fartsy. Love the name too!
August floral of the month. OK, just checking to see if everyone was awake. Ha! After I get off the plane for a speaking engagement my first errand is to get flowers. Years ago I learned that you had to be resourceful in a hotel. Using the toilet to keep flowers fresh before I head to the venue is the ultimate re-purpose!
Well, lookie who the cat drug in. Lani flew in from Minnesota to share in the fun. Christie is from the Southern Ideal Home Show. As for Anthony Gilardi, my co-presenter...lets face it, a girl does not live by junk alone!
Its time to get to work!
Ahhh, the famous creative challenge with the audience members. I give them the old high voltage electrical glove and see what they can do. Fun stuff!
The gangs all here! These are just a few of the wonderful Charlotte junkers who came to see my presentation. The prizes for my oh so talented audience participant included a Gorilla Glue swag bag and a great new product from Rockler Woodworking ...Bench Cookies. Awesome!
As I said before, in between speaking  theres always time for some drive-by junking! This girdle all lit up brought a little smile to this junkers face!

Here is a little ditty I nabbed for my newly started gas station collection. Love it!
Trophies just never get old! One found a home in my suitcase. You can only imagine how often my luggage gets searched. The price you pay as a traveling junker!
This chippy white seat was amazing. Unfortunately too large for my carry on bag.
At the end of the day this merry band of junkers were very happy. Recognize our friend on the right?? JMS member DownhomeDIY (Mary Beth) came to see the presentation and we kidnapped her for the junking fun! Actually, she came willingly. Great to meet you Mary Beth...youre a blast!  Lanis old friend Lisa joined in the merriment.  Funny how things just turn into a girlfriends weekend!

Beth Swanson, the owner has some of the best "junk" displayed at her shop in Marshville, NC. It is definitely one of the best shops, with the best prices, that I have been to in all of my junkin' excursions!!!

I bought a necklace from Janna that says "JUNKER GIRL" at one of Beth's Shopkeeper's Sunday's, and I love it! Janna has more one of a kind necklaces displayed at Beth's shop, THE OLDE TYME MARKETPLACE. So stop by the next time you are in the Charlotte area:) You will find some GREAT stuff!!!

What a great little city, an ab fab home show, beautiful and friendly people, and some fine junk! Sorry ladies about getting the images of your booths mixed up. All I know is I loved them both. In fact I loved the whole store, Sleepy Poet. I could tell from the brief time I was there that the store had an excellent mix of vendors making it a place for all junkers. Thanks so much for your hospitality and the a junking break in the action! I can't wait to meet you all next time I am in Charlotte. A big thanks to Lani (truly the gadget girl) for all of her help and it was a delight to meet both MB (the Julia Roberts of Junk) and Lisa (h-e-double hockey sticks on heels)! Traveling alone can be a drag so it was so much fun to be among friendson this journey. Thanks again to all!
