BTW, stain does NOT respect masking tape.

I finished this table earlier this summer, but had been holding out trying to finding the perfect checker pieces, so here it is! Not sure what sparked the whole idea, but I had an image in my mind of two old timers playing checkers on a porch somewhere, like something from The Bucket List. Unfortunately, I have no where to put it. Anyone know two old timers with spare time?

The table top was already in one piece, I pulled it from an old horse feed barn. Got the legs unstained at a junk show, and just screwed them on, instead of the other way... Painted the red stars, uh red, and clear-coated the rusty brown ones.

I love the whole concept of a checkerboard table and this one came out GREAT. The only thing missing is an ice cold Corona.
