Architectural pieces and cloches two of my favorite things.
January 4th, 2010 in member junkAfter seeing all the good architectural pieces i decided to show our marriage of flooring, corbals, & door knobs. This shelf is just so great 'cause it is wide. We were driving through Iowa & found an abandoned fabulous house. We found the farmer that owned & it was going to be used as a burning house to train firemen. Boy did it make us sick! First time in our married life my husband had only his swiss army knife. Our van was packed to the gills. We did get some of the slate roof and have already used it. I'll post some more pictures later from the "burn house" projects.

How cool that you were able to save some beautiful architecture - and put it to such good use. Architectural stuff is the best, and cloches...2nd best! Great display my friend!!
I want to "ditto" comments made by others...you're inspiring in your posts - and comments to others, and it IS a happy thing to come here and see your smiling face! Keep on junking (and be sure to keep your hubby and his pocket knife close by - y'all make a great team!!).

I have to say that this is my favorite of your posts for 2009. The wonderful old architectural pieces & wood paired with your new found love of cloches and then a vintage globe added for good measure… perfection!
I also wanted to tell you that I really appreciate how you interact & give back to the Junk Market Style community. You really take the time to comment & acknowledge other member’s posts. You’ve left 100’s of comments over the year(s) and your kudos and “smiles, alice” are SO appreciated by us all.
Keep ‘em coming sister! Can’t wait to see what you come up with in 2010.
Your junking pal,
Jenny K

I'm quite envious of your "big boy" cloches too. Nice!
