A good junk find
July 29th, 2009 in member junkThe last few sales I have gone to were really slim pickins.................until I hit the junkpot! I did not picture the rackets. They were already in my studio. My favorite are those cans. Lots of great possibilites from flowers to office supplies. This big bottle was originally filled with vodka!

Now this next part of the story is kind of cosmic, let me tell you, Alice. ;) I was looking through Sue's book, Decorating JUNKMARKET Style, last night, and saw a project in it using a wire basket and a set of legs from an old galvanized tub. (Page 186 to be exact.) I thought then how awesome the project was and knew immediately I wanted to find one of those wire crates to recreate it. I log into JUNKMARKET Style today to your glorious junk post and lo and behold...a wire metal crate among your junk finds! There's a connection, I tell ya. ;)
Wonderful finds! I can't wait to see how you use them.

gailmarie- I know what you mean - I went to a sale last week that was advertised as a neighborhood sale (and you know how excited we get when we see those kinds of sales - LOL)...well, the neighborhood must have put all their stuff at one house - that's all there was! But fortunately...there is enough good junk out there...that a little misadvertisement doesn't stop us, does it??? On to the next sale...and the next...! :)
Thanks for sharing, Alice!!

I understand your happiness on this sale. Many times I too, go to sales and wish I hadn't. So often the sales are advertised as HUGE, having the BEST of stuff, only to find it small with stuff no one would want. You just reminded me to be patient and willing to look. Thanks for posting your wonderful finds. Enjoy them, as I know you will!!! gailmarie Posted: 10:50 am on July 29th
