Nature's Junk
July 28th, 2009 in member junkOK, so instead of dumpster diving the other day, I went a little nature diving. I saw this tree trunk on the side of the road and had to have it. The bark was already stripped and I loved the color and texture. My kids on the other hand were wondering what the heck Mommy was doing putting a tree in the back of the car. I just sanded it, sealed it and added some feet. It is on my screened porch right now but it is sealed for the outdoors too. I am on a hunt to find more so I can create a cute sitting area outside! I love nature and all its goodness!

I used leftover sealer from my outdoor deck b/c it was on hand and free. I don't have the can anymore but if you check in the deck stain/sealer section of a Home Improvement store you can find something. I bet marine varnish would work great too.
Hope that helps.

Great piece of wood you got there DHDIY. It’s a perfect end table for a porch or patio.
