After seeing the beautiful faux painted rug submitted.. I wanted to share my faux painted walkway that I did this summer.  I had just a slab of ugly slick concrete.  I used concrete paint(s) and sand.

treasuresfromtheshed writes: This is it!!!!!! I have been lookin for a way to do a concrete patio in a circular design but cannot afford the pavers and all it would cost! I was going to have a plain jane cement circular patio without any design. THANKS to you I now can envision what my design will be on my new concrete patio! Posted: 3:07 am on July 31st

LadyCatherine writes: Thank you for all the lovely comments regarding my faux walkway. I used paint made for cement. I took a real brick that I liked to the paint store and matched the red color and I just chose a grout that I thought looked like cement grouting. I don't remember the colors and the containers I took to the the paint recycling center. I added a good bit of sand to the paint just until I thought it was a good consistency. I painted the entire slab in the grout color, let it dry, then I used an ordinary kitchen sponge to sponge on the brick, using the sponge in two different directions. After that dried, I literally went over it rubbing dirt randomly in spots where the cement and sand was higher etc.
Then I sealed it with a driveway clear seal, matte finish.
Again, thanks for the nice comments. Posted: 6:39 am on July 24th

audlyenuf writes: Great job! Did you use a stencil for this? Pattern is so perfect.....I certainly couldn't do it without one. If so, did you create it yourself, or can I purchase that stencil somewhere? Would love to know. Thanks. Posted: 9:50 pm on July 23rd
