Suitcases

I had been wanting to put something under my sideboard, but not the usual plants or books. Walking the dog one day, two circa 1960s Samsonite suitcases were being thrown away. One person's trash is another person's treasure. I brought them home, painted them with a glossy black paint and stacked them under my sideboard. I brought out some of the silver items given to us as wedding presents and put on the top suitcase. They do more good here than in the sitting in the closet where they have been for the past 16 years!

My non-crafty husband who usually notices nothing I do (I think he just understands that I will come up with whatever and just rolls with it)has told me that every room should have something black. My m-i-l LOVES sideboards and said she got a great deal on this one. My m-i-l has fabulous taste: in fact, she has often asked if I would trade with her. The sideboard is on the smaller side, one door will not open great hardware too. Not sure of the year or the history, I just know it's gorgeous and I am still scratching my head over how and why my m-i-l gave this one up! Lucky me. Posted: 8:38 pm on July 16th
