I LOVE this, whatever it is! It looks great hanging over my fireplace!
I found this cool old sprocket on the pile and washed it, dried it and sealed it. It now holds my oldest sons bronzed baby shoes! The glass cover was a flea market find, but it works perfectly!
This old mailbox was already white, I just wrote Home sweet Home on it, planted it and hung it on my front gate.

Digging through this pile of stuff that was just going to go to the dump was absolute heaven! We had such a great time and came away with what we considered to be real treasures!

Junk_Sophisticate writes: More wonderful finds for you oldnews! I think your sprocket with cloche married quite nicely and looks fantastic. Andrea's ideas for the fly wheel sound really good. Can't wait to see what you end up doing with it.

oldnews writes: Andrea, thanks for sharing your idea! I love it and am going to go searching now to see what I can use for legs! And, now I actually know what this thing originally was! Marie Posted: 12:47 pm on July 11th

NDJunkGirl writes: Hi, Oldnews....the round piece in your first picture is a fly wheel from a vehicle - I have one too, but mine is smaller. If you attach little "legs" to it, you'll find glass votives/tea lights fit perfectly in the large holes. I used some rusty pieces for legs and attached with Gorilla Glue. Anyway, you are lucky as this piece is perfectly rusted for you! It looks neat hanging though, too.

Also, your old sprocket looks neat under the cloche! Andrea Posted: 9:52 am on July 11th
