Grocery store flowers, a vintage linesman bag, and a dressed up flag from the hardware store says, "Happy Birthday America!" For any other time of the month you can simply rempove the flag or leave it in. If you have Americana decor in your home, a nautical theme, or are just plain patriotic the flag will work all summer long!
I was hanging out with JMS contributor, Lani when she pulled this beautiful little bag out of the back of her car to show me. Loved it! She was kind enough to loan it to me for this occassion. No worries, Lani! It's coming back in your direction all cleaned up. It was extremely soiled. I soaked it upside down to avoid getting the leather bottom wet in Oxy Clean.Although it did not remove all of the stains, it did clean it up enough to be just right!
Love the canvas, the lettering, and the perectly patinaed old rope. I think it just screams for a red, white, and blue bouquet. Whats holding the water and flowers? An old crusty bucket of course...minus the hole. When the flowers have faded feel free to fill with ice to cool down your beverage of choice It's a perfect ice bucket for an outdoor occassion.
Take an inexpensive 4" x 6" flag purchased at a hardware store and make it a little better. Again the flag can be employed in patriotic, Americana, and nautical themed events making it appropriate all summer long.
A quick jaunt into the woods for a twig and a trip to my garage for some hardware is all this flag needed. Oh, I forgot. I did soak the flag in my leftover morning coffee to give it some age. The flag topper is hollow threaded rod, half of a pipe clamp, and a small drawer/door pull.
