Photo of the before project.  This was in someones workshop being used to hold odds and ends in a garage.  It was given to my friend, Laura.
This is the end result after Lauras dh removed 7 of the rows of drawers and rebuilt the bottom portion of this cabinet.  They proceeded to restain the entire cabinet and built shelves for display.
Submitted for Laura by Gretchen (Mimi).

Lauras lovely displays in her beautiful cabinet her dh repurposed.  The little drawers hold so many treasures.
I was the recipient of one of the extra drawers and rye grass was growing in it when I got it last March.  I may turn mine into a recipe storage box.

This was someone elses junk, and Laura's dh turned it into an awesome piece.  Wish it was in my home.

RenewLaura writes: Your welcome Laura. Hopefully, the rest of the ladies figured out that I was posting/taking photos for you of your house/projects and therefore the complimentary posts.
I think that cupboard is about a $2,000 gift from dh, so several things together is o.k. It's what one would call
"a labor of love".

RenewLaura writes: Thank you Gretchen for taking all these fotos! I think you did a great job. I couldn't have bragged about the cupboard as freely as you did! Even though my DH did all the work. I remember looking at it, in a pole barn and covered with grease and cobwebs, and thinking that anything with corbels shouldn't just be dismantled. That's when I started begging, and now he calls it my birthday, Christmas, and anniversary gifts for the next several years.

MimiToria writes: Oh, you guys, this is even more beautiful in person. My photos just don't do it justice, but had to post it for Laura to share with you guys. Her husband did such a great job that you can't even tell what is old and what on the bottom was added new.
I'd take it into my home in a heartbeat.

CottageElements writes: Awesome piece! I don't know what it is about cupboards with small drawers! I wish I had a handy DH to help build things for me. I just have to learn myself I guess! (Any instructions in the future from the Junk Hunk, Sue?) Posted: 6:26 pm on September 9th
