I have arrived!  Im heading to those tables marked 25 cents!
SO much great junk, and so little time!
I really wanted this (Little Debbie display shelving)...but stayed strong.  (Maybe Ill go back Saturday to see if its still much for willpower!)
Garden tools anyone?
A little heavy???
Got any Doris Day??
Very cool old wooden file cabinet - only $40!
Heres what I got...very appetizing - in a junky sort of way!
Love the old clocks, and a couple spoons with an S on them.
Flash cards (50 cents), and a great old folding yardstick - love the old style numbers...
Jenny...look at all this great stuff!  I love the box, and the hardware was a bonus - it looks like a rusty little collage already!
Will check the soon as I clean this up!

I have arrived!  I'm heading to those tables marked "25 cents"!

Well, Wednesday's lunchtime was spent on a steady diet of junk (this could be a new weight loss fat grams - and very high energy!).  My dear friend, Robin, told me about the garage sale, and I couldn't resist making a run during lunch!

I only spent $13.50...and got a whole load of great junk!  And, since my camera is attached at all times...there is fun to go all around!  Not sure how I had time to shop and snap pics...but I think I must be getting it down to a science.  I made sure I asked permission to get photos - and the host of the sale (Sam) - said ok, and told me he does a newsletter on garage sale-ing...junking...etc...go figure!  Will share that too!

I then headed back to work...multi-tasking - eating a quick bite and trying to get back on time...

P.S. should have been there with me!  (just a little far to travel for lunch though...)

Did you make this?
After you make it, show it off to other members in the Member Junk area.

I would have to go back too, love those castor wheels as their great to mount to the wooden soda cases and slide under a bed for storage. You must have enjoyed this & it's a great way to spend a lunch hour. Once during a long term Jury Duty, I used to go into the town and hit all the antique stores and 2nd hand stores. What fun! smellikelli writes: Why can't I live where you find cool sales. It seems here in Utah everyone is either holding out, remaking things over with everything they have or I'm just not as adept at finding the good stuff. AAGGHH!! Here's a challenge tho. What can you folks out there reconfigure using the old Victorian steam radiators.I love those and i can find some here. Thanx for sharing all your great finds and ideas. Posted: 2:00 pm on June 22nd
shabbychick writes: Thanks for the comments everybody! It looks like we're all open to a little lunchtime junking! :) I hit the thrift stores once a week too (at lunchtime).

Gretchen - We'd have to share the "S" spoons - you could have one and I'll take one! :)

And, Jim - yep - it's a sickness - with no known cure (thankfully) LOL!

I went to some sales on Friday (on the way back from an out of town furniture delivery..and we found almost nothing...go figure!), and then on Saturday - found a van load (a neighborhood sale - love those!). So, our junking definitely has its off days - but plenty of good ones to make up for it!

Take care, Kathy Posted: 6:19 pm on June 21st

MimiToria writes: What a fun lunch you had. I tend to go to a thrift sale or garage sale for lunches too. So much more fun than sitting in the office. lol
Love the clocks you found. They are so great! Love the silver too and the "Schaumann silverware" (lol) I mean "S" silverware. How cool. "Stantz/Schaumann" We'd be fighting over the "S's" if we were out shopping together.
Great post.

shabbychick writes: Glad you're all enjoying your virtual trip on my little lunchtime "junket"! There was definitely plenty of stuff to go around (and around)...

RustyDiva - My personal choice for a career would definitely be a personal junk shopper (where should I send my resume?) :) ---- I could do this every day! (Does that sound extreme?? Nah - you guys understand!)

Geo - the wooden file cabinet was very cool...and it was a steal! And you're right about hidden treasure, there were boxes stacked under the tables that you couldn't even get to (so, I may have to go back Saturday when things have thinned out a bit!).

Hey LuAnn...I told you it was great stuff! :)

There is definitely great junk in Ohio! (and I mean that in a very positive way!) ha ha

monakent writes: Man, oh man, are YOU the lucky one!!!!!! The sales I have been going to lately, have been a waste of time (except for maybe 2 church sales and a barn sale last week). What I wouldn't do to find some sales like this. LOVE the clocks!!!! I could have spent a fortune at this place, guessing by your photos. Congratulations! Thanks for sharing the pictures and making me feel bad (kidding.....)!!! gailmarie Posted: 5:20 pm on June 18th

RustyDiva writes: I am sooooooooooooooooo jealous!! Sales like that are far and wide in the Texas panhandle. Great buys! Do you hire out as a personal shopper???? I would have to call into work with a sudden "flea" bug. I honestly would not be able to concentrate with knowledge of such great junk. Thank you for sharing. Posted: 1:48 pm on June 18th
