Finished vanity with top down. Perfect for a foyer, dressing area of office.

Mirror was a discarded kitchen cabinet door with the center part removed. Originally it would have hung vertically, but the space for the door hardware allows it to hang on the wall horizontally. Gadora scored a huge plate mirror at a garage sale and had it cut into two panes. One for THIS frame.

The interior was decoupaged with a vintage National Graphic magazine map (1964), found at an estate sale.

Orginally, Gadora had in mind a complete decoupaged top for this piece, with the legs detailed in the same ocean blue. But after the beginnings of a red hot summer, RED was the ONLY way. It's brilliant. The whole thing was sanded, then several coats of red paint applied. Once dry, the piece was lightly sanded and topped with a polyurethane shine.
I've done my best to look up the style of this piece, hoping to pinpoint its exact date (or era) to no avail. Who knows? Please, enlighten me.
