Babyface Book - Contributor Challenge

I must confess.  I was more excited to receive my album cover than the actual record inside.  Strangely, the cover model reminded me of myself around 20 years ago...same hair, similar eyes and same shiny skin.  My kids even asked independently of each other if she were me.  Kind of creepy, you say?  Kind of funny, I say.
I decided I would only use items currently in my home for this challenge.  Somewhat of a super-challenge if you will.
Although my original scrapbook cover was a lovely shade of Blue Skies - my cover model wouldnt have it.  Removal was imminent as my own Babyface clawed her way to the top.

Once I removed the blue cover, I then trimmed the scrapbook pages to fit the beautiful Toot, Toot, Tootsie! model.  Shell need a brow wax and shave before heading off for bigger and better things though.  Should I say something?  Hooray for Hollywood!
What better way to fill the pages of my album than with my own sweet baby faces at home!  These pages showcase my daughters unwavering love of sweets.  Oh! You Beautiful Doll! Ellie.
Have fun with this idea by using album covers that go along with the theme for the photos inside.  Great for high school reunions, family vacations, or used as a cover that represents a certain era.
Sue sent along a small grouping of 45s inside my challenge pack.  Let me tell you this Lady went gaga over them!  Straight to the oven for these record babies I said!  Flowers will be made in record time.
Find a heat resistant glass or metal container that your record can balance on top.  Heat oven at 200 degrees and check often after 3 minutes.  Carefully remove and form the desired shape if necessary.  Once cooled, spray with an indoor/outdoor primer followed by paint.
The Best Things In Life Are Free, however NO MORE GOLF BALLS PLEASE!!  I picked up a freebie golf ball and decided to paint it black (sorry...different album).  After hot-gluing it to the center of my flower, I placed it inside one of my floral baskets.
As I said before, I only used what I had in my home.  I think the flowers and centers would look adorable painted in pinks, lavenders, yellows and more.
This is my reminder to not let the green-eyed monster rear its ugly head when I view my next door neighbors perfectly manicured lawn.
Upcycled crafty decor to sit on my coffee table alongside my upcycled scrapbook.
This is a sampling of the 78s I received as well (scratch the J.Giels record).  Funny thing is, I dont ever recall coming across one before and was quite surprised with their weight and sturdiness.
Hence, the book shelf.  By using an old record holder on its side, my daughter uses the records as shelves.
Ahhhhh!  To be nine again.  Those Were The Days.

CottageElements writes: Candy, you've got the cutest little Babyface! LOL! It is amazing how you resemble your album (minus the nose, glasses and mustache of course)! You did a great job on this one. Who'd of thunk to make a cover out of it. Perfect! Love the flowers you made with the 45's, too. Awesome for a garden! I haven't finished mine yet and I'm feeling pressure now. Lots to live up to. Great job!

record shelves is my fav. Way to go!

I still can't stop laughing about the likeness between you and little Miss Baby Face...minus the face get-up. Especially now that we can see your pictures together! I love how you approached this challenge and added the one of completing projects with what you had at home. Bravo! Great projects and delivery!

Be Well,

Oh BABY - What fantastic projects (and really...I can't get over that resemblence...)!

Your flowers made me smile - too much fun (I'm gonna try that)! Your photo album is super sweet - perfect for your girls' baby pics - very cute!

And a shelf...you've outdone yourself again!
