Let there be light...
May 26th, 2009 in member junkAt an otherwise lackluster Estate Sale, Gadora spotted several dusty lamp bases and parts. What will YOU give ME to haul these off, I thought. We inked a deal and off I went, knowing of the 6 original bases and 2 original Capiz shades, I'd be able to complete at least 4 snappy new lamps. All bases were sanded, painted with black, then glazed with a gold metallic. The lamps were outfitted with fresh finials, brand new wiring and 3 were given new shades: black linen exterior with a goldtone lining. For the lamps with the new shades, the harps were replaced. For the one lone Capiz shaded lamp, Gadora refurbished the harp. The shape of it was too good to let go of. *Had I not been watching American Idol on the night I restrung them, this transformation would have been quite brisk.
