Make a pit stop at Walden Woods. The stuff you will find is utterly wonderful. You can trust the cow.
Dont miss the Buffalo Nickel. Its a time honored tradition for antiquers, vintage shoppers, and junkers.
Sweet Salvage is just that.....Sa-weeet!

If you're looking to score some great junk all in one neighborhood head to Buffalo, MN the first Thursday of every month through the following Sunday. Rose of Second Hand Rose started it all way back in 1992. There are other occasional sales, along with antique stores to visit while you are in town. I have pictured some , but there are many more. Annie's Attic is another one you will want to visit. Have fun and may the junk be with you.

Check out www.secondhandrosemn.com for dates and hours.

Where about in Michigan were these "occasional sales". I've not heard of them before?

Junkyard_Jennifer writes: I have quite a few things from these sales. I moved away from the area about six years ago. I can't believe it's been that long! This post makes me wish I could take a trip down there this fall.

In regards to occasional sales, we have them 'up north' as well, and when I lived in Michigan they had them there, too.

I just checked their website and one of the pictures shows a rowboat (with a life preserver in it - SS Minnow). IT'S PERFECT! I've been looking for a rowboat for a few years now, and I see I'll have to come to Minnesota to get it! (Ohio is way too far away...)

Does anyone know if the concept of Occasional Sales is happening Nation-wide or in specific Regions? Here's to Rose's success in Buffalo, MN! What a gem :)

Also, does anyone know if the business concept of Occasional Sales has been documented or studied? I can imagine an enthusistic college student doing so for a Senior Year project in entrepreneurship (spelling?) or business administration!!

The concept just intrigues me, no end!

I'll be there too. If you see me make sure to say hello. Did you see those big letters Rose had out back last month? They were awesome. Hope to see you.

Be Well,

If you can go, it's well worth the effort. My friend, Carolyn and I filled up her SUV last month. Eat at BJ's Deli if you go, you won't be sorry, and you need to refuel for energy as there are so many great shops to check out. Posted: 1:47 pm on September 3rd
