Found the grater at a GS for $1.00.  Spray painted with hammered black paint--had around the house--cost for use maybe 25 cents.  Hung with ribbon--once again had around the house--cost for use maybe 25 cents.  Total cost (minus the gold--that's up to the JH to buy!) approximately $1.50  There is plenty of room for more GOLD.

Lucky you having a thrift store that close to work and you're right it could be very dangerous.

At lunchtime, I went to a new thrift store that just opened down the street, and there was a flat cheese grater there waiting for me. Now I need to look at it a while and see what it wants to be!!

P.S. A thrift store just two blocks away from my office - how dangerous is that??? Posted: 1:31 pm on September 4th

No I'm not hoarding them in Michigan. As a matter of fact this is the first flat one I've come across. I have about a dozen of the four sided stand up graters and even a round one. Sorry--but I bet you'll find one soon.

Christy:

Sorry it's warm where you're at. It's like that here--raining now for the first time in who knows how long--but that's a good thing.

Thanks for all the good comments. They are truly inspiring.

Take care,
