45 LP Bird Centerpiece
May 2nd, 2009 in member junkHere is a record project for the challenge. The record is used, though not as an overpowering focus (I am working on another one that really features the records :). I found a 45 7" LP at a garage sale for $25 cents. The main "post" is a "thingy" that I found in a free box at a garage sale. I do not know what it really is, but it was an ugly oak laminate before the antique paint treatment I gave it. The bottom support/feet are old cabinet pulls. I then put some glasses I found at goodwill in the cut outs on the "thingy." The glasses are held up by the cut outs and stay suspended over the record. These can be used to hold flowers (as in the pic) or you can use them to hold candles or even snacks. I topped it off with an antique cast iron bird I found for $.99 at Goodwill. All pieces are secured to one another and sealed to make one interesting tabletop centerpiece/snack holder. Thanks for looking!
