Last fall I started making lapel pins with my old typewriter keys and vintage buttons and they have been a hit! I make charms, pins, bracelets...always using buttons as the background. I have a thing for letters, so typewriter keys, scrabble tiles, etc. are favorites of mine! I get special orders for initial pins...one man even bought eight of them for the ladies in his office and they loved that they each got their own first initial and each one with a different color/style of button.
