Look what Kathy, AKA ShabbyChick, had delivered to my front door!  A large cast aluminum A which will start my collection of As for the Allen family. I purchased it through her blog,  Sylvias Vintage Daughter  and am so glad I did!  Its in such superb condition, do you think she might have just snatched it off a building?  Anything for a buck, I say.  Hehe.  I dont think so.

monakent writes: Candy - your ideas are marvelous!!! I would never have thought of drop cloths for curtains. Your home must be a showcase. Too bad I don't live closer to you. I would want to drop by for a "tour-de-house." Thanks for all your help on this one. :o) gailmarie Posted: 9:32 am on May 10th

Love your "A" letter Candy. I'm a bit envious. Any "G" or "S"? lol We are all coveting your wonderful letter.
Enjoy!

Junk_Sophisticate writes: Hehe, monakent. You can find my "odd-white" curtains at Home Depot in the paint department as well. They are canvas drop cloths. :)

Take care,

monakent writes: I really need to proof my comments better before submitting. I just noticed I said "odd-white" instead of "OFF-white" when describing your carpet and curtains!!! I had a good laugh at my own expense though. Feel free to laugh too - it's been a long day for me and I guess I am more tired than I thought. gailmarie, bfa Posted: 4:18 pm on May 1st
monakent writes: Thanks Candy for the name and info on the paint color. I really, really like the look, with the aluminum letter, white window trim and borders, and the odd-white of the carpet and curtains. I think I may end up at Home Depot in the next day or two to see if I can get a can (or two) made up for me (if at all possible). I think the color would go good with just about anything and would sure boost my moral in my basement work area. Thanks again for the info! gailmarie, bfa

CottageElements writes: Candy, you've got an "A+" from me in everything you do! And this is such a cool letter! Hey, Kathy, how 'bout some "L's" on ya? You know my initials are LLL. Kind of boring if you ask me. But I do have accumulated a small collection. Love 'em!

georgiamoon writes: Candy this is a great "A". You guys should hit up Jenny for letters...I know she just got a "new" batch in. She will be selling at the "Three Speckled Hens Antique Show" this weekend, as will I. I get to see all these great letters and other junk tomorrow night....before the show! Marie...enjoy Alameda, it is one of my faves. Next time I sell there I will let you know and we can meet if you can make it. Georgia Posted: 1:52 pm on April 28th
Junk_Sophisticate writes: Thanks gailmarie. My wall color has technically been discontinued but you can tell the Home Depot paint dept. to look up "Behr - Olive 4" on their computer and they will be able to find it. We used Olive 3 in our previous home and I actually think I liked it a tad better. Still love the 4 though. Thanks for being on the lookout for any A's for me too. ;)

Marie - That is a great idea and it is nice of you to offer to everyone. Have a wonderful time at your flea this weekend!

oldnews writes: I love the "A", it definitely gets an A! I actually really LOVE the idea that we could kind of watch for things that we know someone might be looking for. It would be like having shopping buddies all across the country! There could be something BIG here!! I'm going to the huge Antique flea Market in Alameda, CA. this Sunday - Can't wait!! Anyone searching for a hard to find item?? Let me know!! Marie Posted: 2:45 am on April 28th
