I ALWAYS forget to take before pictures! When I get an idea for a project, I just set to work on it and then later I think "I should have taken a picture of it before I started".  .  .oh well.  .  .

I found this at the auction a while ago, abandoned. It doesn't look like much in the pictures, but I believe it to be either part of a fireplace mantel or perhaps part of an old sideboard. It's quite large, over 3 feet long, and quite heavy too!

There is glass that goes in the middle of it.

Unfortunately, I am going to move later on this year, and I do not think I'll be able to take it with me, so I've been trying to sell it. No takers yet, though. Maybe if I fix it up a little more, I can make a little profit on it.

racers7 writes: That is a super cool piece! You can get a Gel Fireplace insert (metal)...lots of places to buy online and put it inside the middle. That way makes it portable and they use gel can inserts that are smokeless and can heat a room also. No wiring or gas lines needed. Melody Posted: 1:22 pm on February 19th

Don't give it away! You always pick up stuff that you will never be able to duplicate for the price. Figure out a way to take it. Check out the fake fireplace I made with a twin headboard on my pofolksdecorator1, you can sit it on top of a shelf, make a cozy fake fireplace in a bedroom, so many possibilities. It is awesome!@@@@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Annie Posted: 6:16 pm on February 18th
