Upholstered Bench from UGLY Coffee Table
April 17th, 2009 in member junkO.K., another Goodwill purchase I made. Look at the horrid stain on top. This ugly brown pine bench was purchased and I painted it off-white. I drilled six symmetrical holes in the bottom, cut a piece of 3" firm foam 1" larger all around than the top of the bench. Foam was attached with spray adhesive, and then wrapped with dacron batting. The jazzy fabric was upholstered on the bench using the basic technique of starting in the center of each side, working out towards corners and then folding neatly and stapling in place like a tight bed sheet. Six covered buttons were pulled down through the padding with a long needle and twine. I stapled the twine in place, doublebacked and stapled again. Voila'
