I am sure that she created this piece just for me. Those of you who know me, know that I am, withou a doubt directionally challenged. i couldn't punch my way out of a paper bag without a GPS. This compass on a bracelett sure would have helped me navigate my way through the many tents and building at the Marburger Farme Antiques Show! Very cool!
Meet Janet Waldrop, designer of this gorgeous junk jewelry. She is a delightful gal with some pretty funny opinions about baubles. Like for instance, if you can't see it from the car I'm driving in then it's just not big enough! Ha! Each year I do a Green Ribbon Tour at Marburger highlighting vendors who embrace the JMS belief in reuse and recycle. Janet surely knows how to do this. She even employed some out-of service dentures in one of her pieces. Wow!
Janet's use of old photos to market her wares delighted everyone who stoped by! Each piece of jewelry had a story that was written on the back of the photo. We junkers love our stories. Am I right?!
Janet had pendants, earrings, bracelets, and more. The selection was enormous and each piece unique.
The array of bits and pieces she incorporated into her designs was mind boggling. If she could put her hands on it she could create a piece of jewelry.
Janet doesn't have a website, but you can reach her at 903.825.3757. If you speak with her, ask her if she has a story about Texas fire ants that she would like to share with you.Tell her Sue sent you!

While at Marburger I was blessed with meeting some very cool vendors on the cutting edge of recycle and reuse. There were many great jewelers there, but I have to say my new friend Janet took the cake with her innovative designs and her unbelievable knack for display. Whoa, Nellie take a look at some of her creations!

I'll try to post the necklace that Lani saw today that made her think of this post. Its so fun to design with different finds, and the necklace I'm referring to is kind of funky too. Not this funky and fun, but different than some of the other things I've shared.
Hope all is well with you and great job on TV this week. How fun for you!
